Processing times are separate from the shipping times you see at checkout.
All orders (except commissions) are processed within 1 to 7 business days after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
Orders containing original paintings and commissions are shipped directly from my studio in Grafton, Ontario, with Priority Shipping from Canada Post.
Orders just containing prints are shipped from our print provider in Montreal, Quebec, with Priority Shipping.
Orders with just small items (cards, stickers, ornaments) will be shipped with Canada Post letter mail with no tracking. If you would like tracking for your order, please contact kerry@hereshecreates.com before making your purchase.
-
Do you offer international shipping?
I do offer shipping across the globe. Please contact me via email at kerry@hereshecreates.com for shipping options outside of Canada. Note that I will pick the shipping method to provide the best level of service and economy.
For all customers outside of Canada, customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.
Specifically for the USA, traditionally there has been no importing tax or duty for Canadian art, but rules and regulations will change over time during this period of trade unrest and unpredictable change.

What colors are in your limited palette?
Nice try. That's a secret. However, I will tell you that, while the colors I use are always the same, the brands I use are always artist quality paints to ensure that the art I create for you lasts the test of time.
-
Can I copy your work?
I retain the copyright for all my work and do not grant permission for anyone to create a copy. If we created a piece together during a tutorial led by me, either in person or online, your creation is now part of your personal art collection but cannot be sold.
-
What brushes do you use?
Honestly, lately it's whatever is on sale;) But if I were to choose a favorite, for acrylic and oil work, I use an assortment of flat brushes from the Princeton Snap Line, and for watercolor and gouache, my favorites are Winsor & Newton Cotman brushes.

What or who inspires you?
I'm inspired by every day life and the little things that bring me joy and laughter. Sometimes that means painting the rogue roadside poppies that are growing prolifically on the sides of county roads in my community. Other times it's running into a rogue cow walking down a county road while I'm out for a run. But whatever I paint, there's always a story.
I'm also VERY inspired by other artists' and am so grateful to have "conned" many of these artists' I admire into being my friend. These include, but are definitely not limited to, Raquel Roth from Halifax, Wrex Roth (not related to Raquel, at least I don't think....) from Port Hope, Jen Vandenbroek from Calgary, and Alai Ganuza from Spain.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I'm a vinyl enthusiast; mostly because I just feel that music sounds better when it comes from a physical recording, but also, I love the ritual of pausing to flip or change a record. My collection favorites includes classics by Fleetwood Mac, Cindy Lauper, Stevie Wonder and the Beach Boys.
Outside of my vinyl collection, it really depends on my mood. Some of my favorites on Spotify include The Tragically Hip, The Shins, Ray Lamontagne, Broken Social Scene and The New Pornographers. -
Any advice for those of us learning to paint and draw?
Nothing in life is easy, but if you have the passion and will, it will make the process of learning so much more enjoyable.
Try to work on your art every day. Even if that means a simple doodle during a commute to work, or during a boring office meeting.
Believe in yourself and focus on constant improvement and eventually, the magic will happen.
Also, don't be shy about sharing your work. I started sharing on instagram at the beginning of my artistic journey - and let me tell you, my initial work is disastrous and VERY different from what you see me paint now. But by posting my progress, I was able to connect with other aspiring artists who were on the same wild ride as me. We're now a community of like minded artists who share, support and encourage each other.
Also, those first few sketches..... They're still on my Instagram. Scroll to the very beginning of my feed and watch the progression unfold.
